Installing Rider and Passenger Floorboards on a Harley Street Glide

Installing Rider and Passenger Floorboards on a Harley Street Glide

Upgrading the foot controls is a practical way to refresh both the appearance and riding position of a Harley Street Glide. In this installation video, Buffalo’s Garage replaces the original setup with Mactions rider floorboards, male-mount footboards, a shifter peg, and a CNC brake pedal pad.

Parts Installed in the Video

The installation includes four matching components:

- [CNC Wide Off-Road Rider Floorboards]
- [CNC Male-Mount Wide Footboards]
- [360-Degree Adjustable Shifter Peg]
- [CNC MX-Style Large Brake Pedal Pad]

Together, these parts create a coordinated MX-inspired foot-control setup with machined aluminum surfaces and stainless steel traction points.

Before Starting the Installation

Confirm that every component matches the mounting style and model year of your motorcycle before removing the factory parts.

It is also helpful to photograph the original hardware and mounting positions. Keep any factory pins, clips, washers, and brackets organized in case they need to be reused.

Always follow the motorcycle manufacturer’s service instructions and specified torque values.

Step 1: Remove the Original Rider Floorboards

Begin by removing the factory rider floorboards one side at a time. Support the board while removing its retaining hardware so the original pins, clips, or washers are not lost.

Before installing the new floorboards, inspect the mounting points and clean away any dirt or road debris.

Step 2: Install the CNC Rider Floorboards

Position the new rider floorboard and align it with the factory mounting location. Install the supplied or retained mounting hardware, but do not fully tighten everything until the board sits correctly and moves without interference.

Repeat the process on the opposite side. Check that both boards are positioned evenly and that their mounting hardware is secure.

Step 3: Install the Male-Mount Footboards

The smaller male-mount footboards can be rotated to suit the rider or passenger foot position. Install each board on the correct mount, adjust the angle, and tighten the hardware only after finding a comfortable and level position.

Check that each board can fold or move as intended without touching the exhaust, bodywork, or other components.

Step 4: Replace the Shifter Peg

Remove the original shifter peg and install the Mactions CNC shifter peg. Its 360-degree adjustment allows the contact surface to be positioned for the rider’s boot angle.

Make sure the peg is securely locked after adjustment and does not interfere with the floorboard or shift lever.

Step 5: Install the Brake Pedal Pad

Remove the existing brake pedal pad and align the MX-style pad with the brake lever. Tighten the hardware evenly, then press the brake pedal several times to confirm unrestricted movement.

The pedal must return normally and maintain adequate clearance from the floorboard throughout its full range of travel.

Step 6: Complete a Final Safety Check

Before riding, check every fastener and verify that:

- Both floorboards are secure
- Folding components move normally
- The shifter operates through every gear position
- The brake pedal moves and returns freely
- No component contacts the exhaust or bodywork
- The rider can reach every control comfortably

Perform a short, low-speed test ride in a safe area. Stop and inspect the hardware again before returning to normal riding.

This installation provides a useful look at the complete process and the finished appearance of a coordinated Mactions foot-control setup.
